JOB OVERVIEW
As Farm Attendant you will work on production (feed-stock preparation, insect rearing, processing, packaging, delivery) to ensure the farming system is running well and that production is achieved. FLYFARM runs highly automated rearing and feeding systems and so the role requires you to be comfortable with technology and able to troubleshoot/work with the technical engineer to solve issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work hands-on at the facility (inside and outside) to achieve production goals
- Plan for the timely delivery of Waste Feedstock to the farm and arrange the logistics
- Handle and prepare Feedstock as it arrives from the company’s organic waste suppliers
- Carry out the feeding and harvesting tray movement runs that are part of the farming process
- Carry out post harvesting drying and rendering stages of the process
- Packing end products ready for shipping to customers
- Preparing shipments for B2B and B2C customers making direct ecommerce orders
- Work closely with the engineering team and on-site engineer and carry out new system installations when necessary
- Organise the repair and routine maintenance and cleaning of production of all equipment
- Collaborate with the technical development team for trials and testing routines
- Ensure health and safety regulations are observed
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Technical / Agricultural College Qualifications or Bachelor’s Degree
- Essential IT / Computer skills are required
- Previous experience on modern technical (such as poultry) farming is a strong plus
- A positive can-do attitude. Proven ability to work to solve issues and get things done
- Holding a forklift license is a plus
Soft Skills
- Must be hands on person – who does not mind to getting his/her hands dirty and work closely alongside the team
- A passion for sustainable farming and innovation
- Most importantly – open to learn new things and share our belief that insect protein can transform the protein landscape

Salary range: AUD 45,000 – 60,000 dep exp.
